USB-устройства и AMIBIOS8

Задам идиотский вопрос - а можно пару примеров с "платформы с AMIBIOS8"?

Не сочтите..., просто не понял. Может быть сам документ не доступен? Или какая проблема? Во всяком случае - жду вопрос.

Ну, пару примеров общеизвестных плат с AMIBIOS 8.

P4P800 сотоварищи. Или просто - все последние Asus на Intel.

Как-то маловато в доке информации... То, что там есть, я в общем и так представлял. Меня интересовала точная раскладка отдачи информации о USB-диске по INT 13h в свете спецификации EDD 3.0.

А вот программка там красивая (которая Visual eBIOS). Поискал - сразу не нашел, хотя у Вимса на форуме искали и у китайцев упоминания есть...

Нам с Вами - мало (документация-то маркетинговая), а для пользователей - вполне интересно:

2.5.8 Emulation Type
Every Mass Storage device that is enumerated by AMIBIOS8 will have an 
emulation type setup option. This option specifies the type of emulation 
AMIBIOS8 has to provide for the device.
Please note that the device’s formatted type and the emulation type 
provided by the BIOS must match for a device to boot properly. If both types 
do not match then device’s behavior is undefined. To make sure both types 
match, format the device using BIOS INT13h calls after selecting the proper 
emulation option in BIOS setup. The FORMAT utility provided by Microsoft® 
MS-DOS®, Microsoft® Windows® 95, and Microsoft® Windows® 98 can be 
used for this purpose.

2.5.8.1 Auto
AMIBIOS8 auto-detects the current formatted media when this option is selected. 
Auto-detection is based on hard coded rules. The following are the rules defined:
- If the block size of the media is greater than 512 bytes then the emulation type 
is assumed as CDROM (El Torito formatted)
- If the device has a partition table with more than one partition then the emulation 
type is assumed as “Hard Disk”.
- If the device has a partition table with only one partition then the device is emulated 
as “Forced FDD” (See below for description about this emulation option).
- All the other devices that do not follow the above rules are assumed as “Floppy Disk”.

2.5.8.3 Forced FDD
This option allows a hard disk image to be connected as a floppy image. This option 
works only for drives formatted with FAT12, FAT16 or FAT32. AMIBIOS8 will hide the 
partition table and any hidden sectors specified in the partition table. Also AMIBIOS8 
will modify the hidden sector field read
Drives formatted with this option may not boot with a non-AMIBIOS.
