2. I had a ten days long great headache a few days ago. After incident with PS there was the same: no post, no beep, black screen. I was thinking, that mobo is dead. CPU, memory and cards (tested on another mobo) OK, power ON... and nothing. CPU was cold, North Bridge was cold also.
There was only two signs:
- if CPU fan was disconnected, mobo self-shut-off.
- with no RAM in socket: long beep in endless loop.
After some experiments even RAM was not detected. I supposed, that COMS was not cleared. The only working method for my mobo was as follow:
- disconnecting from mains.
- removing battery.
- short-circuit on battery socket for a one or two minutes.
- leaving mobo without battery for 3 hours.

In the next step of mobo's reanimation I was setting switches:
- VID to 1.75V (VID4 1-2, VID3 1-2, VID2 2-3, VID1 1-2).
- DSFID to 12.5 (1 OFF, 2 OFF, 3...6 ON).
- JEN do JumperFree (2-3).
- DSW to 103MHz (DSW1 OFF, DSW2...4 ON).

What was next?
With only PS, floppy, keyboard, RAM, CPU fan and graphic card connected mobo started with BIOS setup screen! I loaded default BIOS setting, saved it to CMOS and restarted mobo. After POST screen I switched power off and drinked cup of cofee. The rest was trivial: setting mobo's switches to positions written in my first post, BIOS setup and Byte Merge setted to Disable, saving to CMOS, restart, flashing BIOS 1011, clearing CMOS with CLRCMOS etc.
