Hello!
Sorry but i dont understand any russian.

I have a QDI kinetiz7T with via KT133.
I want to upgrade with an athlon xp 2200+ or a newer barton or sempron one.
However it can only supports 100mhz fsb.

Will the new cpu be recognized with bios patcher?? And if i connect L5 bridges and make it a mobile one, can i select a high multiplier(like 20x) to get cpu's normal speed or even overclock it with bios pathcer?? It has an option for that, however the english traslation is outdated and the specific page doesnt even show in russian for me to translate it: https://rom.by/index091603_031204.html

I use version 4.51beta. Is that the most recent version?cause in the forum i saw that there is a version 6??
Whitch one should i use??

Thank you.

Do you have AWARD or AMI BIOS in your mobo?

If you have an AMI one - then only 6th version of patcher can help you in modding the BIOS (though, this is not recommended at the moment, because BP v6 is at alpha stage now and intended primarily for bug-tracking purposes). Otherwise, you can use 4.51beta, that you already have - it seems almost stable .

After patching you have to try installing new CPU. If it works - it works  . If it doesn't - you'll have to find and remove a capacitor on RESET# line (AG3 pin) or replace it with a lesser one (about 18pF – 51pF) to improve stability.

After making CPU mobile you can select any multiplier less than maximal. If you close L5(1) - it will mean: any, less than 24x. That's enough for you? :D
BP with /a option only sets max multiplier less than possible (e.g. /a15 means 15x instead of 24x). This is useful if your mobo tries to start CPU at 24x and fails to do it. It doesn't add option to change multiplier from BIOS setup. To change multiplier you need some third-party software like CrystalCPUId, CPUMSR, etc...

PS BTW, I'm thinking about english version of FAQ. Coming soon :D

I have an award 6 bios.So 4.52 beta is the latest for me??

What is that trick with the capacitor??I havent head it before! That will only help if i make the cpu mobile and it doesnt work, or even if i make it possible to use the high multipliers cutting L5(3) and L5(5) or like this method: http://www.emboss.co.nz/amdmults/ ???

And where can i find this RESET# line (AG3 pin) capacitor on the motherboard??

Thanx

p.s. the english FAQ should be a great idea!

2Lyr Извини, недогрузил картинки до конца - сейчас с нетом проблемы, пишу в оффлайне

So, let's begin.

Yes, 4.51 will work just fine for you.

The trick with capacitor is intended to make new cpu's recognizable by old mobo's. Even not 'mobilized' ones. Though, it's not needed everywhere, some mobo's don't need it at all. So do it only if your Athlon XP will not start or shows itself to be unstable.

High multipliers and mobile mode will be possible if you connect L5(2) and L5(1) (the middle two in L5). Cuttiing bridges is a really bad idea, because you can kill your CPU with ease, while doing so. In the other hand - silver ink can be removed easily. So, connecting, as it looks to me, is better than cutting.

Pinmod described in the article at emboss.co.nz will not work at locked Athlons. So the only way for you is to make it mobile, as I told you.

AG3 is the name of a pin in the CPU socket. Find the socket A pinout (using Google or Yahoo), if you'll need it. And it is shown on pictures above - thanx to Lyr. When you'll find AG3 - use a multimeter or an ommeter to find which capacitor around socket is connected with it.

Hmmm... Your new CPU doesn't want to start? If yes - the first picture is just what you need. Look at row with letters AG in the left and column with 3 in top of it. Their crossing will give you the needed pin. If it works or if you had not bought it yet - you do not need to do this trick 'just in case'.
It is optional, only for those who cannot run new CPUs on old mobos.

The only thing that bothers me is that i dont see any linux program for the multipliers of the mobile cpu cause i have a linux partition and an xp one.

Если ты не против то закину твою фотку в архив оверклокера (туда где ты щсталные взял- ms6380-первой ревизии не попадались хотя разводка у них похожа на v2
