Netbook LG x110 убитый BIOS

Доброго времени суток!

Имею Netbook LG x110 - L.A7W3E, говорят тоже самое, что Wind.
Решил прошить биос от мсиай. Давно уже. Не помню зачем. В прошивальщике поставил галочку - перешить бут-блок. С тех пор (уже скоро год) не могу ничего вернуть обратно.
Что имеем: При включении питания включается вентилятор, запускается жесткий диск и горит лампочка питания. Иногда, поначалу, мигала флешка, вставленная с прошивкой. Больше ничего не видно и не слышно.
FDD & CD - отсутствуют...

Производил следующие действия:

Перепрошивка BIOS через Recovery Mode 
1. Скидываем файл с прошивкой в корень флешки и меняем у него расширение на ROM (в итоге наш файл с биосом будет выглядеть как EN011MS.ROM). 
2. Вставляем подготовленную флешку в USB порт нетбука. 
3. Снимаем батарейку и отсоединяем штекер питания. 
4. Нажимаем и держим кнопку Power. 
5. Подключаем блок питания в сеть и подсоединяем его штекре к нетбуку. 
6. Отпускаем кнопку Power. 
7. Нажимаем кнопку Power дважды. 
8. Нажимаем кнопку Del для входа в Setap. 
9. Переходим на появившуюся в BIOS вкладку Recovery. 
10. Переходим на пункт Procced with flash update и жмем Enter. 
11. Ничего не трогаем и ждем окончания процесса (не трогаем питание, клава при етом процессе блокируеться - об етом есть соответствующая надпись). 
12. По окончании процесса перепрошивки в ответ на приглашение нажимаем лбюбую кнопку для перезагрузки. 
Теперь остаеться только подсоединить аккумулятор - BIOS обновлен.

Прошивать БИОС следует ТОЛЬКО с подключенным внешним питанием и снятой батареей, иначе существует возможность получить залочивание клавиатуры (keyboard lock up) и сообщение "ERROR: BIOS has no flash information avaible ". 
Прерывание процесса прошивки БИОСа по любой причине чревато прогулкой в сервисцентр. 

Необxодимые файлы: 
1. Новая версия БИОСа (БИОС 1.7 ) 
(БИОС 1.8 ) 
2. Программа для форматирования SD-карты/USB-диска (далее флэш) - HP USB Disk Storage Format Tool - v2.1.8 ( files.extremeoverclocking.com/file.php?f=197 ) 
3. Системные файлы от Widows98 ( files.extremeoverclocking.com/file.php?f=196 ) 

Описание процедуры: 
1. Разарxивировать в отдельную директорию файлы Win98 (условно назовем c:\dos) 
2. Вставить флэш. 
3. Инсталлировать и запустить HP USB Disk Storage Format Tool: 
3a) Выбрать File System - FAT 
3b) Отметить Create a DOS Startup disk=>Using DOs system files located at:=>c:\dos 
3c) Нажать Start и в конце получить отформатированный загрузочный флэш с DOS. 
4. Разархивировать зип файл с обновлением БИОСа на флэш (зип содержит три файла - eafudos.bat, EAFUDOS.EXE, EN011IMS.107) 
5. Перезагрузится с приготовленного флэша. 
6. Запустить с командной строки eafudos.bat. (В новой версии 1.0А надо запускать flash.bat) 
7. Дождаться окончания процесса и перегрузиться. 
8. Готово 

Возможные проблемы после прошивки БИОСа - клавиатура не реагирует на нажатия (keyboard locks up after bios updате) 
Причина: прошивка была произведена без отсоединения батареи.. 
Решение: 
1. Не паникуйте! 
2. Выключить Винд, обождать 10 секунд и отсоединить батарею и внешнее питание. 
3. Подсоединить обратно и включить. 
4. Готово

By following these steps, you can force your Wind to boot into rescue mode: 

Prepare pendrive with working BIOS version: 
You only have to copy the BIOS file to your pendrive and change the file extension to ".rom", nothing more. For example, a BIOS file called EN011IMS.109 would be renamed to EN011IMS.ROM 
Insert the prepared pendrive in to a USB port 
Prepare the computer and power: 
Remove the battery and disconnect power cord 
Press and hold power button 
Connect power cord 
Release power button 
Press power button twice 
Work through the BIOS setup 
Press Del to enter BIOS configuration 
Go to the Recovery tab 
Select Proceed with flash update and press Enter 
The update process will begin -- DO NOT PRESS ANY KEY OR REMOVE POWER CORD! 
After the process finished, press Enter and power your Wind off 
Remove the power cord 
Insert the battery and then connect the power cord again 
Start your Wind, go to BIOS setup again, and select Load setup defaults from the "Save & Exit" menu- this will bring the new BIOS configuration into a sane state 
Save and exit from the BIOS 
All done.

i was in the same predicament after i decided to update to the latest firmware. usb ports weren't available, wireless was not working, etc. booting off the flash drive to re-flash the firmware didn't work since the usb was not recognized or the media was unable to be read. rescue mode didn't work. just having the .rom file in another usb key didn't work either. so i decided to try a variety of things. 

this is what i did that finally worked:

i transfered all boot files for the firmware update i just did -including a copy of the .rom file- over to a *new* usb key. i performed steps 4 onward -ie. leaving the power button down while re-plugging the ac power. 

the power button stayed lit, the screen was still black... but, waiting like a minute or so then i then got to the msi prompt with the option to enter the bios. i pressed the delete key and waited like a minute. it finally went to the bios recovery mode and all was well.

for me, overclocking worked. i hear on this thread it might be disabled? ymmv.

what i learned:

1. going to rescue mode may be a *slow* process:
a. the rescue mode may take a minute or two to start up. leave it alone for a bit if the screen is black.

b. after pressing the del key it may still take a minute to get to the bios. the computer is not frozen.

2. as long as the .rom file (and if anything else is needed) is there, then it doesn't matter what other files are on that drive. it's useful to know that you don't have to wipe out an existing usb drive just as long as the important key file(s) is/are there.

i've still yet to test out if there are any issues, but glad i'm out of that rut.

to those who are stuck, try something different to see if that's the key for your issue. good luck!

Just a quick FYI. I thought my machine was totally bricked. I updated to the latest bios on my wind and everything appeared to have gone smooth. Everything flashed to 100%. I shutdown. Removed battery for a while. Put the battery back in and nothing but a black screen displayed at bootup. I followed the guide for the wind rescue mode. I tried it many many times and to no avail. Mutliple flash drives etc. Just a Black screen.

Turns out the problem had to do with having installed extra memory. Apparently when you flash your bios, it resets the setting for onboard memory to enabled even though I had it set to disabled prior to the flash. And the wind wont boot when onboard mem is enabled when there is memory in the expansion slot. 

Holding the escape key and then hitting power button would let me boot up, enter the bios screen and disable the onboard memory.

Everything is working great now.

unplug battery and power
plug in the usb stick with the right firmware
hold down the power button and plug in the powercord
release the power button
press the power button
press esc right after you pressed the powerbutton

you should be in the recovery now

1- Took out battery and upplugged from wall. Press and help the power button for 1 minute to release static
2- Left the Wind without the battery and unplugged overnight.
3- Grabbed my USB stick and downloaded BIOS version 1.0B from MSi website 
(global.msi.com.tw/index.php?func=downloaddetail&type=bios&maincat_no=135&p...)
4 - Deleted all my other files on the usb stick, and then copied the 3 downloaded files to the usb (dont need to format or anything)
5- Next morning, I stuck the usb stick into the left usb slot of the wind. Held the power button down, then plugged the power in (while still holding the power button down and without the battery inserted)
6- Released the power button, and then pressed the power button again to start up the wind
7- As soon as I pressed the power button on, i quickly pressed the ESC key and the DEL key a few times.. and then BINGO! it was on!
8- As soon as you see a dash on your screen (first sign of life on wind), it takes you to recovery mode where you upgrade the BIOS with the files on your USB.

Everything worked great from the guide except I too had to press the Esc key. I followed the guide exactly but after the double power button press I just started alternating taps of Esc then Del, Esc then Del, Esc the Del etc....

It then loaded to the BIOS screen. Thanks for the guide!

Used a FAT formatted usb drive and OSX to do this.

You know I struggled with this also. I think it has something to do with how long you hold down the power button. Essentially you need to clear the CMOS.

инструкция по прошивке под любую систему (OsX, Linux, BeOS) - никакой венды не надо. 

1. пишем прошивку на флешку под вымышленным именем EN011IMS.ROM (в корень чистой флешки, разбитой fat) 
2. делаем shutdown 
3. вынимаем батарейку и питание 
4. жмём power 
5. включаем шнур питания (power держим, держим, держим... отпускаем) 
6. нажимем power два раза (даблклик) 
7. аппарат грузится - жмём del и попадаем в царство bios 
8. выбираем recovery и "Proceed with flash update" 
9. следуем дальнейшим инструкциям

Ok I have been investigating and discovered that the X110 is a clone of the MSI U120/U120H that is why the U100 bios would not work properly.

Hab eine gute Nachricht! Ich habs wieder zum laufen bekommen!!! Hab da jetzt echt 5 Stunden dran gesessen... Mit Trick 17  Ich habe das Teil aufgeschraubt, die BIOS-Batterie abgeklemmt und den CMOS-Speicher (+/- Pol) "kurzgeschlossen". Anschließend die Netztase für ca. 10 Minuten gedrückt gehalten! Dann alles wieder angeklemmt, eingeschaltet und er läuft!!!!  Habe dann wieder auf das alte BIOS zurückflashen können (viele User haben Probleme mit dem MSI Bios auf dem Akoya)!!!

Bin echt selber ein bisschen überrascht, dass es nun so einfach funktioniert hat!!! Ich danke dir trotzdem vielmals für deine Hilfe 

Thema kann dicht gemacht werden!!! Wer Probleme mit BIOS hat, kann sich gerne bei mir melden! Jetzt hab ichs drauf
