Root вы правильно сказали "проводит тестирование всех возможных режимов и выбирает максимальный" максимально возможно для кабеля 40 жил является режим UDMA 2. Если вы попробуете на своём компьютере подключить жесткий диск через кабель 40 жил то винда не включит вам режим UDMA-5 ни как (кроме случая если принудительно заземлить 34 контакт, что и сделано в 80 жильном кабеле). В моём случае включение режима UDMA-5 (определение что диск подключен через кабель 80 жил) зашито в BIOS так как 34 контакт не задействован (смотрел по схеме ноутбука). Для определения нужного кабеля (и др. параметров) во время загрузки BIOS происходит запись определённых значений в регистры чипсета (я так себе это представляю, если не так то поправте) вот для этого мне и надо найти участок BIOSа где прописаны значения для IDE контроллера и поменять одно из значений как это сделать прошу вашей помощи.
